FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: Does each member of the band have to pay the annual fee?
A: NO! Only the band has to pay the $10 fee or buy $15 or more of Heavycore merchandise as a whole. So if you have 5 members in the band - that's a measly $2 a piece. That won't even buy a Happy Meal anymore!
Q: Can we apply online then send the money by snail mail?
A: Yes, that's fine. Sending it off soon after applying will help us keep your application moving quickly.
Q: What about the big bands, like Cannibal Corpse, will they be paying too?
A: Most big bands don't have much to do with their website. Usually they sign up when their webmaster finds out about us, or their label does. This is the case with Metal Blade, Nuclear Blast, and Century Media. We will establish a program for record labels who sign their bands up. Each label will be expected to give us the name of a key A & R person that we can refer bands to if we feel the band is ready to get a serious look. Someone who can cut through the usual bullshit. This will help our membership in a huge way. The big bands help attract new brothers to the organization - so it's a win-win for everyone!
Q: Can I use my 10% Heavycore discount on my initial order if I go with option #2 (buying $15 or more in stuff)?
A: No, you must have a member number to get the discount and we cannot give you one of those until you become a member. Once a member, you can use that member number to get discounts on ALL Heavycore merchandise in the future.
Q: What are you going to do with the money?
A: Check out the "hear it from Pete" page for details . . . but simply pay the bills - like postage, web hosting, printing, broadening our services into things like sponsoring Heavycore tours, advertising in metal magazines, and more.
Q: Are you going to improve the website?
A: Yes, we already are doing things to improve it. Once we move to the new host, you'll see lots of things changing like streaming audio and video. In addition, many bands suggested we set up a page to help bands with the business side of things - and we will be doing that with a panel of experts in the field like attorneys, A & R reps, magazine editors, and more. Also we'll be doing a feature on one band per month, and will encourage our members to sell their merchandise in our online store. So we've got lots of things in the works - some are already happening!
