So good to see you back in brutality once again my friends . . . things have been extremely hectic in the brutal world of the Low Twelve Command Center. We've got a great show coming next Saturday September 11th at Coconut Louie's. We'll be doing a Tribute to Rick Rescorla and the 9/11 Victims. Much more on this exciting event later in the Brutality Report.
In addition to that kick ass event, I embarked on writing the novel for "This Side Toward Enemy" this week. Back in 2006 when the "This Side Toward Enemy" CD was released, the plan was for me to write a graphic novel bearing the same title - which I did, along with a screen play for a movie we wanted to shoot. Well . . . . there was not enough interest by publishers to release the book, and so I scrapped the idea. Well, I'll explain what made me decide to start it up again and to write a novel instead of doing the graphic novel. All that plus a great online contest to win an autographed copy of the book about Rick Rescorla - "Heart of a Soldier". It's signed by Susan Rescorla - his widow and we'll be giving one away at the 9/11 show and one here online. You also will score a signed copy of our new "Splatter Pattern" CD along with it! So get your shit together and win that great prize. Much more on that later, plus all the hot chicks a person can stand in the Brutality Report XXX, and one real nasty Skank of the Week for you perverse bastards in the crowd.
So now is the time for the real metal heads in the house to stand up and prepare for one hell of a wicked beating. The posers of this planet should hide in the closet and try not to think about how fucked up your life became after Low Twelve came on the scene to point out how fucking worthless you are . . . and that your women rub their pussies reading these reports, wishing they had a monster cock to slap them upside the head at night.
Now get on with it.
| THIS SIDE TOWARD ENEMY NOVEL BEGINS |
|
| From 2001 to 2006, I focused
my entire attention to the "This Side Toward Enemy" project. It
was massive. We began writing the songs for the CD at the time
that Tim was leaving the band. So this was the era of the 3-piece
Low Twelve that created the twelve songs for the groundbreaking CD about
a fictitious serial killer - Nolan Weeks. I always wanted to take
the same storyline that I created in the lyrics, and make a graphic
novel with the same title. I wrote the graphic novel, and at one
time artist Jeff Gaither was going to do the artwork, and then a friend
of the band, Mike "Sexy Bearded Handy Man" Stoltz was going to do the
art. But the graphic novel never got enough of my attention when
it came to sending it out to publishers and agents to try and push the
book. I also wrote a screen play for a movie that we intended to
shoot about the story. But when no one was interested in the book,
the movie seemed out of reach with a budget of zero.
I also think that spending five years writing all three - the CD, the book, and the movie - I was burned out on the Nolan Weeks character. I even wrote a short story that was divided up into many parts in our former newsletter, the Low Times. It was called "Nightmare Maker" and it was actually going to be the pre-quel to the Nolan Weeks story, and would explain how the twelve voices came to be . . . . with a horrific story about a deranged mental patient taking 13 nuns hostage in a steam tunnel mechanical room. The plan was to have a follow up to "This Side Toward Enemy" using the "Nightmare Maker" story. But I was burned out and when it came time to write more new stuff for another CD, the band wanted to do something different and so the "Splatter Pattern" songs came to pass . . . where we wrote about a theme to the songs rather than an actual storyline like before. So where am I going with this? Well, I always thought the story of Nolan was good and that it had so much potential for the big screen and maybe even a full length novel instead of a graphic novel. So now that I have a little more free time with "Splatter Pattern" done and out . . . . I would embark on the task of taking the graphic novel and turning it into a much more detailed novel. I have many exciting ideas about how I want to do it, and have spent a lot of time fleshing it out in an outline, so that my writing has a purpose and just doesn't flounder around. This is not the first novel I've written, and it seems to be a good way of doing it for me and my schedule. |
My plan is to take what would have been the prequel concept in "Nightmare Maker" - how the voices came to be in the tunnels under the mental hospital . . . . with Nolan's grandfather, and make it the first part of the novel. I will go into much more detail of course then I did in the short story, as the characters will be much deeper and will come to life in the scariest of ways! Then the second part of the book would be the Nolan Weeks story and I'll also take that to much more detail than before, since a graphic novel is much shorter than a novel due to the style of that type of writing and the fact that there would have been lots of artwork there to take up space.
I still plan to call the book "This Side Toward Enemy" since the entire story revolves around that concept. It's going to be brutal beyond belief. There were some scenes I wrote in the graphic novel and screenplay that were almost too strong to where I may have to dial things down a bit if I hope to get it published. But I know the novel is going to be a gruesome tale of the world's most disturbing serial killer ever. I plan to shop this around to literary agents first - so that I would have a much better chance at seeing it get published down the road. Most big publishers don't take material unless it comes from an agent. If I have to, I would even self publish the novel, because I stand so firmly behind the storyline and think that if it got in the right hands - anything is possible!
I will keep you all up-to-date on this venture and at times might give you a little sneak peek at the horrific events that create the bloody path of Nolan Weeks. Have fun trying to sleep after you read it.
| SPECIAL SEPTEMBER 11TH SHOW PREVIEW |
|
|
On Saturday September 11th we'll be playing a very special show at Coconut Louie's in Bloomington. This will be a Tribute to Rick Rescorla and the 9/11 Victims. We'll be sharing the stage with Peoria's Bloodroot, and then Low Twelve will be shredding the stage with two full sets packed with songs we haven't played in many years, as well as classic cuts and songs from the new "Splatter Pattern" CD. There will be something for every hardcore Twelve Head at this show! The band has been practicing the two sets hard, and we're looking forward to unleash it upon you with the kick ass PA and lights that Coconut Louie's has. We will be giving away one of the autographed copies of the "Heart of a Soldier" book, and copies of "Splatter Pattern" signed by the band - at the show. So make sure you stop by the merch table to sign up for the giveaway. Anyone who buys something at the table will get to enter twice to increase their chances. So support the cause and win some kick ass stuff in the process! Below are the details for this one-of-a-kind show - we'll also be playing some rare audio from Vietnam with Rick Rescorla singing some funny Irish drinking songs between the bands and I'll be talking quite a bit about the tragic events on 9/11 and how we should always remember what happened on that day. Sometimes people forget about it - but they should never forget those cowardly attacks! Another reason to pause on 9/11 for me - is that is the anniversary of my cancer being in remission. This 9/11 will mark nine years that I've been cancer free. That date will always have a strange but special meaning to me.

| Last year we started taking
some of the more "extreme" photos off the Brutality Report so that
others could enjoy following Low Twelve and Heavycore without having to
see that sort of stuff. So we starting doing the Brutality Report
XXX - for you more hardcore bastards (or bitches) out there. As you know, we've got lots of hot chicks on the Brutality Report XXX page. So why not check out lots of free picture and movie galleries where you can see sexy teens getting naked and performing acts that only adults can see. We do a feature each week of one of the hottest young girls on the web - offering several galleries for you to check out. Some have movies on them too, so you can see much more than still shots. We also post several more galleries - featuring girls that do nasty things. We also have an archive of past galleries, so you could wind up with a disability claim from all the jerking you're about to do! So be careful and don't hurt yourselves . . . we need you in the trenches - being brutal as ever for the underground metal movement. So that gives you an idea of what's in store . . . lots of hot teen chicks doing nasty things. Need I say more?
