So what in my brutal CD player this week? |
|
|
| 1. Cannibal Corpse - Evisceration Plague (completely brutal death metal) | |||
| 2. Low Twelve - Splatter Pattern mixes (non-stop brutalness in progress) | |||
| 3. Mercyful Fate - Melissa (awesome old school black metal) | |||
So good to see you back in brutality once again my friends . . . things have been very hectic here in the Low Twelve Command Center as the mixing continues and lots of time is spent dialing in sounds and getting things just right for the upcoming "Splatter Pattern" CD. So far things are coming along amazing and the band inches closer to wrapping things up. More on that later with pics from Nasty Studios.
While all that wickedness is going on, I've still managed to bust out yet another edition of the Heavycore Chopping Block Show for the masses and you can check it out while you read this report. It's a heavy one for sure with lots of brutalness to go around! In addition, a CD release party is set for Friday May 21st at Coconut Louie's in Bloomington IL - read up on that later on in the report and mark that one down on the fridge so you can bring your grandma down for the pit. Maybe you'll get lucky and Crazy Mike will take a pic of her titties for the whole world to see? Also some kick ass news about Wes and his coming apprenticeship at a big studio in Chicago!
So dig in for another slab-o-sickness while the weak among us bow out and go whack off to their old Korn videos. The rest of us real metal freaks will continue on and know that in pain comes pleasure . . .
Now get on with it.
| POSERS WEEPING YET AGAIN . . . |
One hour of true metal mayhem hosted by Pete Altieri! |

I busted out the 44th show of the Heavycore Chopping Block Show with the March 2010 edition. It's a sack-splitter for sure with brand new stuff from technical death metal freaks ARSIS plus lots of other great shit from bands like Cannibal Corpse, Skinless, Bloodbath, and more. I also spin a song from Central Illinois' death metal freaks Embrace Damnation, which features vocals from Lividity guitarist Dave Kibler. It's packed full and slamming from beginning to end - so check it out or fucking die.
Part 1
Arsis - Beyond Forlorn Hurtlocker - Painted Red Embrace Damnation - Throne of Chaos Kreator - Reconquering the Throne Skinless - Overlord Sodom - M-16 Sacred Oath - Darkness Visible
Part 2 Listen to the NEW Heavycore Chopping Block in streaming mp3 format now - part 1 (mp3) part 2 (mp3) Spread the word and also check out the myspace page at www.myspace.com/choppingblockshow If you're in a Heavycore band and want to be played on the show - send your stuff to me at: Heavycore Chopping Block Show, PO Box 554, Heyworth IL 61745. |
| WES LANDS BIG APPRENTICESHIP IN CHICAGO |
|
|
Sometime in March, Wes will begin an apprenticeship at Pressure Point Studios on Michigan Avenue in Chicago. After looking into different recording schools, he found that through ECC's Recording Connection there was a program that actually placed you in a professional recording studio as an apprentice. Upon learning of this program, an interview was set up for Monday 2-8-10 at Pressure Point to meet with Studio Engineer, Brian Cabby. After explaining his musical background, drumming achievements, recording history (with Low Twelve), and giving him a brief listen to an in progress song off the new "Splatter Pattern" CD, Wes left the interview anxious to hear back with a decision from the studio. He quickly got the call and was notified that he had been accepted and that Brian would soon be ready to start working with him.
Through the
program, there are 6 months worth of lessons including everything from mic
placement and techniques, to using Pro Tools for Signal Processing,
Midi Production, Sync and Automation, and Surround Sound Mixing. The
apprenticeship is set up to focus on hands-on training and as you can see on
the website, will all be done using top of the line equipment including a
72-channel SSL 9000 K XL mixer in the main control room. Each room in the 3
story 20,000 sq. ft. studio is actually networked so you can record from
either control room, no matter what floor or room the "sound" is coming
from. Wes will be traveling to Chicago 2 days each week as well as studying
at home to complete each required lesson to become a certified Audio
Engineer.
Huge "hell yeahs" to Wes for landing the apprenticeship and glad his time in Low Twelve contributed to his success! Email Wes your thoughts wes@lowtwelve.com

| MIXING DOWN THE
BRUTALITY . . . NEARING COMPLETION We have been working hard to get the mixing down for the "Splatter Pattern" CD. This will be Low Twelve's fourth CD release and so we are really striving for putting out the best we can possibly do. Wes has been busting ass on drum tracks and has things really sounding killer. Drums are always the big thing when it comes to metal production - so a bad drum sound will just kill the mix. So instead of fucking around, we brought Les Aldridge over here this week to my own Nasty Studios and let him do his thing and dial in the drums - one at a time. On Thursday night he and Wes were here for several hours and we only got the four toms done, but they sound really - REALLY good. Tomorrow, instead of our usual band practice, Les, Wes and Meister are coming over to complete the drum eq and move forward into guitar sounds and possibly bass too. Of course with the Sony software we are using (Vegas, Sound Forge) we can save the settings and then use them in the rest of the songs - so they are consistent. We worked with the song "Mountains of the Dead" because it features lots of toms - and it made it better for Les to dial things in. I'm anxious to see how much of an improvement the snare drum and bass drums will be evident when Les gets done! I'm hoping to have a medley of a few songs ready for the site by this time next week, since things will start falling into place quickly now. We are patiently waiting for artist Jeff Gaither to give us some samples of what the cover will look like . . . but nothing yet - so hang in there. As soon as we get something to show you all - you'll see it in all its brutal glory! Here's the track list - in order as they will appear on "Splatter Pattern" - due out in late April.
STAINS OF OUR PAST
SPLATTER PATTERN BODIES IN MY POCKET A HERO'S LAST STAND HAND OF THE DYING BIND TORTURE KILL SCOURGE A WITNESS TO CARNAGE MOUNTAINS OF THE DEAD NOT FORGOTTEN DEFIANCE TO THE END FIRE FOR EFFECT (instrumental) DYING ROOM LINES DRAWN (bonus track) Check out some pics I took while Les and Wes were here this past week . . .
We also have set a date for the "Splatter Pattern" CD Release Party! Friday May 21st at Coconut Louie's in Bloomington IL - we'll be doing two full sets and playing with Ocularis. So we're going to play one set of all new stuff and one set of older material. It should be a fucking blast - and by then the new CD will have been out and we'll have boxes of them to sell at the show. So come by and support the cause - and check out a rare double-set from the bringers of BRUTALITY. Look for LOTS of shows coming as we slam it into brutal overdrive in 2010 as the band enters it's twelfth year of existence. |
| DON'T FORGET ABOUT XXX! |
|
| Last year we started taking
some of the more "extreme" photos off the Brutality Report so that
others could enjoy following Low Twelve and Heavycore without having to
see that sort of stuff. So we starting doing the Brutality Report
XXX - for you more hardcore bastards (or bitches) out there. As you know, we've got lots of hot chicks on the Brutality Report XXX page. But, that's only for adults, so if that's not your thing, or you're not legal to check that sort of thing out, then don't go there. You must be 18 or older to see that sort of thing - so you've been warned. But if you are legal to see that stuff and wish to - then you can see hot chicks like Ariel (pictured right) and many more, doing some nasty things. So why not check out lots of free picture and movie galleries where you can see sexy teens getting naked and performing acts that only adults can see. We do a feature each week of one of the hottest young girls on the web - offering several galleries for you to check out. Some have movies on them too, so you can see much more than still shots. We also post several more galleries - featuring girls that do nasty things. We also have an archive of past galleries, so you could wind up with a disability claim from all the jerking you're about to do! So be careful and don't hurt yourselves . . . we need you in the trenches - being brutal as ever for the underground metal movement. So that gives you an idea of what's in store . . . lots of hot teen chicks doing nasty things. Need I say more? Just one last time - remember you must be 18 or older to see such things . . . so don't go there unless you're legal. Click on the link below if you want to check out Brutality Report XXX and don't come whining to us if your cock gets sore from all the jerking - or if you're a female and that nub gets worn down. Enjoy the perversion! Happy jerkin'! |
