| 2. Low Twelve - Splatter Pattern mixes (non-stop brutalness in progress) | |||
| 3. Bolt Thrower - Those Once Loyal (amazing UK death metal) | |||
So good to see you back in brutality once again my friends . . . as I spit out more brutal propaganda than the posers can stand! We had a blast at the Poser Roast 24 show in Urbana last Friday night, and you'll be able to check out one hell of a BRUTAL back-to-back nastiness from Low Twelve with a couple songs from our set on video. Plus lots of great pics from Crazy Mike and my review of the night for all of you to soak in and wish your lame ass was in the pit with the rest of the crazy mother fuckers.
In addition to that, Wes and I got together this week to continue working on drums and putting the final drums into the mix to see what this fucker is going to sound like. WOW. We've got some great updates on that, plus Gaither will be starting the bloody artwork real soon - so lots of "Splatter Pattern" stuff to talk about as we near the finish line in getting the new 14-song Low Twelve CD done and in your dick beaters. Or pussy beaters if that applies. Also we've set up a show on February 12th at Coconut Louie's in Bloomington IL and that's Tim's birthday. So we'll be doing it in honor of Tim and right now the details are still sketchy, but you can find out more about that and lots more . . . including a nasty skank of the week and lots of hot naked teen girls in the Brutality Report XXX. What are you waiting for?
Of course the metal freaks out in the crowd know the drill and have something cold to drink with a nice warm bowl of something - ready to devour their weekly dose of wickedness. The posers out there are many, and they know the battle is underway and they are taking lots of causalities . . . but for some reason they continue to face the brutalness each week. You would think after twelve years of Low Twelve that they would just whither and die on the vine - but they stick around for our fucking amusement.
Now get on with it.
| FEBRUARY SHOW TO HONOR THE LATE TIM MCCLELAND |
|
| We got a myspace message
from Coconut Louie's to ask if we'd like to do a show on Friday February
12th as a sort of Bloody Valentine type show - a brutal metal show
basically. When I realized that the date was Tim's birthday, I
thought it would be cool to do it and to maybe talk about some funny Tim
stories between the bands and let some fans who might not know much
about Tim, some funny behind-the-scenes stuff.
So make sure you come out and check the show out. Right now it's only us and Ephemeral Order - who we played with at the Poser Roast 24 show and they were very kick ass! Two of the guys were former members of Slavereign Nation (vocals and bass) and joined up with a very kick ass young drummer that previously played in other bands we've jammed with like Redeeming Damnation. We're working on lining up a third band for the show - but once we do, we'll pass along who it is. If you have "Flesh of the Weak", the first Low Twelve CD's or either of the early demos we released, then you've heard Tim's guitar work. He was brutal and had a tone that few will ever forget. His guitar solos were incredible and he baffled aspiring guitar players with how at ease he was on stage playing . . . that he would dangle a cigarette from his lips even while doing back up vocals. I used to laugh when we played and I saw the reactions. Guys would point at each other and say shit like "did you see him do that?" Tim was a regular Marlboro man to the metal heads! So don't miss it - Friday February 12th at Coconut Louie's in Bloomington IL. More details below at the end of the report. |
| SPLATTER PATTERN UPDATES |
|
|
The mixing on the upcoming Low Twelve "Splatter Pattern" CD is coming to a close and so far, things are wicked beyond belief. Many of you have commented on the "Bodies In My Pocket" track we've posted to our myspace page. If you have heard it yet, or need a brutal fix, then check it out now and continue reading the report. Wes came by this week to Nasty Studios and we did some mixing down of more drum tracks. So far he's gotten completed four songs - "A Hero's Last Stand", "Bodies In My Pocket", "Scourge", "Defiance to the End", and "Mountains of the Dead". He's kicking total ass! While he's been working on that, I've been cleaning up the guitar and bass tracks, as well as the vocals. I'm also working on some of the intros and outros that will be used in some of the songs. I think you'll like some of the shit I've come up with, as most of it are things I created myself and not stuff I've stolen from movies - like many bands do. The "Splatter Pattern" CD is really taking shape now and we can see the finish line. Wes plans to have all the drums done and to me by the end of February and then I would expect a good 2-3 weeks of mixing all the final tracks - doing some test burns to CD so we can hear what things sound like on various stereos . . . plus the mastering of the final CD. So we're looking to have the CD to Noiseland Industries for duplication/printing by April 1st. They usually turn the project around in 2 weeks, so that would give us a mid to late April release date. So finally - things are coming together! Jeff Gaither, the artist who has done all the Heavycore releases and all but one of the Low Twelve releases - will be doing the "Splatter Pattern" art. We've got some really different ideas this time around, and Jeff is up for the challenge. We'll be doing a 12-page booklet insert with all the lyrics, pics, liner notes, and more plus a big surprise for the cover that will have you wanting your own copy big time! It's going to be wicked - and soon enough you'll see for yourselves! As Jeff progresses with the art, we'll give you some behind-the-scenes looks - so watch out for that and prepare for one hell of a wicked new 14-song CD from Low Twelve as we embark on twelve years of brutality in 2010. |

CENTER BACKED UP . . . ARE YOU? I am sure that some of you have heard of Carbonite. It's a company that offers offsite back ups of your hard drive, so you don't ever have to worry about losing your pics, emails, and all that shit if your pc or mac took a crap. It happened to me last year - my hard drive went down and I lost a lot of stuff because my external hard drive didn't have all the latest stuff on it. Even though I backed up every 2-3 months, I lost some recent stuff and even some older shit I never backed up at all. On Thursday I signed up for Carbonite and now all my stuff is completely backed up so I don't have to worry about that kind of crap. It's minimized on my desktop so I don't even have to think about it. My pc doesn't run slow while it backs up, I have been doing video editing and graphics work today while it was working and I didn't even notice it. Having an off site back up that works while you're online in the background, so you don't have to think about it is nice. It's not much either. It's only $55 for one year. If you email me at pete@lowtwelve.com I can send you a link to try it free for 15 days to see if you dig it before buying it. Plus, I score 3 months of free service for you signing up - so you're helping out Low Twelve at the same time! You don't want us to lose our files to some posergeist do you? Of course not - so email me and I'll hook you up with a link to score that kick ass FREE trial before you buy it. But $55 for a full year of backing up is very reasonable and good for peace of mind. |
| POSER ROAST 24 A SUCCESS! |
|
| We had a kick ass time at
the Poser Roast 24 show last Friday night. We were a bit surprised
when the promoter, Dan Juday, took us outside to show us the marquee
with our name in "bright lights". It was cool of the club to do
that, and so we thought taking a few pics under it would look cool.
It was raining out, so we had to make it quick, and in order to take the
shot, Dan and Crazy Mike were in the street - so cars were coming and
all. Thanks to both for sticking with the shot and taking several
kick ass versions. This is the one (pictured right) that seemed to
look the best. The show was very cool and it was good to see many friends from the Champaign/Urbana area again after many years in some cases. The last time we played the Canopy Club was in 2007 when we opened for Gwar. So the place was a bit different inside, with a new small stage in the bar area that they use for small local acts and acoustic stuff. Inside the main room was a smaller stage in front of the main stage, that they use for shows where they don't expect a big crowd, since the place can hold 1,500 or so. We used this smaller stage and it went really well - because the bands used the main stage as a backstage area and to stage drum sets, so the set change overs went super fast. Dan was very organized here and the bands all pitched in to help each other. It was a true Heavycore show, as all the bands playing a roast have to be in Heavycore. First up was a new band, with a couple members from the former Slavereign Nation, Ephemeral Order. They were very cool and unique - with a blend of heaviness with melody done in a very cool way. They reminded me of all kinds of metal bands - but nothing I could say - "they sound just like . . . " Which is good of course! After them was Seminary, who hail from Hoopeston - the Cornjerker capital of course. Along with them came Kruztea and the Stinkditch family, so it was fun to see all of those crazy bastards again. Seminary was very good and continues to improve each time we jam with them. Judy Powder got up next and it was the first time we had seen them before. We've known singer Jody Ponder for years and this solo project has been something he's worked on for years. They used pre-recorded drums and bass, and used two guitar players live with Jody singing. It was interesting how they pulled it off and the fans dug it. Check out some pics that Crazy Mike took below. |

big screens on either side of the main stage showed
"Roasting Posers Volume I" between bands!
Low Twelve was up next and we had some major issues with the monitor mix on stage. Les had some problems earlier in the week with his guitar processor and wound up using another processor that he hadn't messed with for a while . . . but dialed in a screaming tone so his sound was blowing us over on stage. Wes' drum monitor was not working for about half the set, and then when it finally came on it nearly knocked him down with how loud it was. These are things we've had to deal with for years - playing small clubs and bars - and even large venues like the Canopy. It's tough to move bands on and off so fast and not have some issues like this. We hung in and played a brutal set of about 7 songs before we had to stop to keep the show moving.
Check out "Brutal World" and "Lines Drawn" back-to-back from the show . . . I think you'll dig the raw wickedness of it!
After we were off stage - Blessed with Pain tore it up right! It was good to see those guys again and they played a real strong set. To close out the night, Dan brought in the death metal band Whorrid from Chicago. They were very kick ass and donning the studs and spikes! They are also on Rotting Corpse Records along with us, and it was the first time we played together. I thought they played a very strong set and managed to talk to them for a bit before we had to leave.
Check out some more pics from Crazy Mike!

Huge thanks to Dan for setting the show up.
Also thanks to my son Joe for helping with loading and unloading the gear, Crazy
Mike for the pics and also Michelle and Chrissey for helping out at the merch
table. Also big thanks to all the guys who came out from other Heavycore
bands, past or present - who showed up to check it out. Plus all the great
fans and friends from the Champaign/Urbana area. It was good to see you
all again and hopefully we'll be back again soon.
| DON'T FORGET ABOUT XXX! |
|
| Last year we started taking
some of the more "extreme" photos off the Brutality Report so that
others could enjoy following Low Twelve and Heavycore without having to
see that sort of stuff. So we starting doing the Brutality Report
XXX - for you more hardcore bastards (or bitches) out there. As you know, we've got lots of hot chicks on the Brutality Report XXX page. But, that's only for adults, so if that's not your thing, or you're not legal to check that sort of thing out, then don't go there. You must be 18 or older to see that sort of thing - so you've been warned. But if you are legal to see that stuff and wish to - then you can see hot chicks like Jenny (pictured right) and many more, doing some nasty things. So why not check out lots of free picture and movie galleries where you can see sexy teens getting naked and performing acts that only adults can see. We do a feature each week of one of the hottest young girls on the web - offering several galleries for you to check out. Some have movies on them too, so you can see much more than still shots. We also post several more galleries - featuring girls that do nasty things. We also have an archive of past galleries, so you could wind up with a disability claim from all the jerking you're about to do! So be careful and don't hurt yourselves . . . we need you in the trenches - being brutal as ever for the underground metal movement. So that gives you an idea of what's in store . . . lots of hot teen chicks doing nasty things. Need I say more? Just one last time - remember you must be 18 or older to see such things . . . so don't go there unless you're legal. Click on the link below if you want to check out Brutality Report XXX and don't come whining to us if your cock gets sore from all the jerking - or if you're a female and that nub gets worn down. Enjoy the perversion! Happy jerkin'! |
