So what in my brutal CD player this week? |
|
|
| 1. Exodus - Fabulous Disaster (love this old school thrash) | |||
| 2. Richard Cheese - Various (this guy is fucking hilarious) | |||
| 3. Cannibal Corpse - Live Cannibalism (brutal as hell live death metal) | |||
So good to see you back in brutality once again my friends . . . what a crazy year 2009 was! It marked the beginning of the "Splatter Pattern" recordings in January and saw one band member leave, another come back, and brutality marching the fuck on! It was a year that in some ways marks a great example of what has made Low Twelve forge on all these 11 years - perseverance. It's really that simple! Any band that can survive the shit we have and kept on going . . . despite all the bullshit life throws in your path - deserves to be known as one of the most lethal metal bands on stage! Fans that have seen us play live with the new lineup - Les back and Meister chugging along - have commented that it is the best Low Twelve version ever witnessed! So we're pumped as hell for 2010 as it will see the release of the much anticipated "Splatter Pattern" CD and tons of great shows!
Speaking of shows - we are playing a big Poser Roast show during a time when we normally don't play out at all. But this one was special, and we wanted to throw it down at the Canopy Club in Urbana, the place where we tore it up opening for Gwar in October of 2006. More on that later on in the report. Plus some pics of Nathan Kurtz blasting out a guest guitar solo for the new CD, a "winner" in the nasty Skank Off 2009 contest, and of course much more!
So you posers can now bask in the brutality of 2009 and wonder how in the fuck you are going to stand another year of this. I mean really - do you know that this summer will mark 12 years of Low Twelve? Do you realize how significant that is? Do you know that means we're going to be throwing it down show after show and making your women wet in the crotch? Oh yeah - they'll be fingering their own assholes wishing that a real metal freak was balls deep in it.
Now get on with it.
| A LOOK BACK AT 2009 |
|
| Low Twelve has had so few
band member changes in the 11 years we've been together, that when it
happens it's a major shake up! 2009 saw the departure of guitarist
Dan Steinlicht, and the return of the mighty axe slinger that left the
band in March of 2007 for personal reasons - Les Aldridge. Les has
always been a fan favorite, and so they were pumped to have him back in
the saddle. We didn't want to see Les go in 2007, so Wes and I
were excited to have him back. Meister had been a fan of Low
Twelve since 1998 when it started, and was beyond pumped to get up and
play with the three of us now that Les was back. So it seems like
a perfect storm, and entering the 12th year of Low Twelve - something
seems to be lining up. The planets are nearly in place, and I
think now is the time for the band to really take this fucker up a few
notches! Look out for bigger shows in 2010, a new CD to knock you
down and ass rape your woman, and lots of new and exciting things going
down. Let's take a look back . . . or a bit of a "retarded rewind" at 2009! There were some kick ass things that happened, like me becoming a pastor to marry Wes and Michelle, the 500th Brutality Report, and much more. | POSER ROAST 24 COMING JANUARY 15th! |
|
|
The last Poser Roast was August 2007, soon after Les left and Meister/Dan both joined Low Twelve. Well, I got contacted by Brother Dan (of Hate Choir, Butt Ugly, and others) on myspace to see about starting out 2010 with a bang and doing a Heavycore Poser Roast Show at the Canopy Club in Urbana. Well, we usually take December - February off of live shows so we can concentrate on recording, or other things we're working on. Well - since it was a Poser Roast and at the Canopy Club - I thought what the hell. So we agreed to do the show and it's going to be wicked as hell! Check out the flyer on the right to see the great lineup that Dan came up with. It's great to see Blessed With Pain on the list, our Rotting Corpse label mates Whorrid coming down from Chicago to do it, and local favorites Judy Powder, and Hoopeston freaks Seminary on the list. Fallen Oath apparently has had to cancel the show and so Dan is looking for another Heavycore band to play. I gave him a few suggestions and Dan said he'd contact them to see about doing the show. If any band is interested in getting the slot - just in case Dan is not able to find a band out of the list I gave him, they can contact me at pete@lowtwelve.com for more information and how to get in touch with Dan. If you've never been to a show at the Canopy Club - you really need to check this out. It's a great venue. At one time it was a movie theater, but was renovated into a bar with a great big room/stage for larger national acts. As I mentioned earlier, we opened for Gwar here a few years ago and it was a sold out show - approximately 1,200 or so were there. It was a killer time to be able to open for someone that big and to play in front of that many people. It was one of those nights that Low Twelve was on their game big time and it sounded great. They now set up a smaller stage in front of the big stage for the local shows. The reason is that it gives the bands a "backstage area" and a staging area for drum sets, to speed up the set changes. This show will be tight on 15 minute changes, but Dan said that it's not a problem with the system they have down - so we're looking forward to a good show that moves quickly and gives the fans one hell of a ball slapping! All the bands are playing 30 minute sets. We have a good one picked and since it's only going to be 6-7 songs, we had to really whittle the list down! With over 50 songs now, it's tough to only pull out that many to play. But we think we've got a set list to rip your head off big time! We'll play 2-3 older songs that you old school fans will dig, and a few newer songs too. One of the older songs is one we haven't played since Les left the band in 2007 . . . so watch out. So mark this one down on your calendar and make it a point to check out this killer Heavycore way to start off the new year. Huge fuck yeahs to Brother Dan for setting up this show! We're really excited to play the Canopy Club again . . . so we hope to see you bastards in the pit getting nuts! |

| SKANK OFF 2009 WINNER We have a "winner" in the Skank Off 2009 contest. This picture is so nasty that I cannot show it here on the main page. But if you click on the link below you can see Jenna Horse Jizz Drinker in all her cum guzzlin' glory. Warning - it is extremely offensive and disgusting - which is the main reason why most of us love looking at the skanks anyway! Ha. But if you don't want to see that stuff, then don't look at it. It's that simple. Wes said the other day he hasn't looked at the Skank of the Week for many years now - so some people just don't dig it. It's cool . . . but there are many of you who like that stuff - so enjoy! |
| SPLATTER PATTERN UPDATES! |
|
| We have been working very
hard to get the "Splatter Pattern" CD finished! It's amazing that
next month will mark one year since we did some pre-production drum
recording in the V-12 . . . so doing the CD on your own like we do does
take a long time - especially when we all work day jobs and can't just
work on it for weeks on end to get it done like the "bigger bands" do. Wes has been working hard on the drum editing, which is very tedious shit. He's got me the final drums for "Bodies In My Pocket" - which was selected first so that I could begin working on the video we shot in October at the Henry Street Horrors site in Pontiac Illinois. He's actually coming over to Nasty Studios tomorrow to work on some eq on his drums and making sure all my settings match what he's got on his computer. Wes and I both use Sony Vegas/Sound Forge software and so it helps move things along. He also said he's nearly done with "A Hero's Last Stand" - which I'm real excited to hear with the final drums. When you all hear the difference it makes - you'll just shit. I'm hoping in the first Brutality Report of 2010 on Sunday January 3rd - I'll have a sample of "Bodies In My Pocket" you all can check out! So now things are falling into place and so I am working on a short list of the "little" things I need to get done to pull the entire project together. I've got lots of short intros and outros for certain songs, liner notes for the CD, final guitar and bass editing, cleaning up vocals, and that sort of thing to get done. As Wes starts giving me final drums, I can then do some mixing and the band will be over here several times to check out my mixes and fine tune things. Les has an amazing ear for that sort of thing, so we'll be using it for sure. |

Nathan Kurtz doing a solo for "Hand of the Dying" at
his home studio
Nathan Kurtz, guitar player and engineer, is pictured above doing his solo for the song "Hand of the Dying". The song features three guitar solos, so we thought it would be cool to have Les do one, Nate do one, and then they do one together at the end. Nate is a great friend of ours, and as I've mentioned before - he's been doing the drum engineering for the whole CD. He's been dragging all his gear to the V-12 to record drums now 3-4 times and will be making the trip we hope only ONE MORE TIME on Sunday January 10th to complete the drum tracking. Nate has been amazingly patient and helpful with this - so we thank him for all his hard work! We thought it would be cool to have Nate do the solo, and before Les agreed to come back - Nate was lined up to do all the solos if needed to keep the CD on track. So we're anxious to hear what he's come up with. So far what he's sent me by email is fucking killer - and once I get it all put together with final drums too, you'll eventually hear the song. "Hand of the Dying" is one of the more powerful tracks on the CD.
Here's the CD track listing - not the official order. Note, there are a couple of song titles you've never heard of before - they are longer intros that we felt should be a separate track.
STAINS OF OUR PAST
SPLATTER PATTERN
BODIES IN MY POCKET
A HERO'S LAST STAND
HAND OF THE DYING
BIND TORTURE KILL
SCOURGE
A WITNESS TO CARNAGE
MOUNTAINS OF THE DEAD
NOT FORGOTTEN
DEFIANCE TO THE END
FIRE FOR EFFECT (instrumental)
DYING ROOM
LINES DRAWN (bonus track)
Very soon you'll be able to hear a few clips and eventually a couple full songs that we'll make available on the myspace page and that sort of thing to get Twelve Heads ready for the full release. As noted earlier, "Stains of Our Past" is the working title I have for an intro for the song "Splatter Pattern" that right now is the favored track to start off the CD. It's a faster song with a slamming chorus and pre-chorus that will stick in your head for a long while . . . and the rest of the CD just pounds it out with no weak spot on the list. Ending the CD with the classic Low Twelve song "Lines Drawn" will be about as huge a ball slap as anyone cold possibly muster! This time around it's got one hell of a big sound - those harmonies are just mind-blowing! Wait until you hear it with Meister's vocal attack along with me and of course his crunching rhythms that will snap your back in half. His guitar sound on the CD is vicious!
The song "A Witness to Carnage" is actually the intro for the song "Mountains of the Dead" that is approx 2 minutes long and so we thought it would be best to name it it's own song and keep it as a separate track. Officially there are 14 songs on the new CD. Fuck yeah!
We'd like to thank all the friends and fans who supported the cause in 2009 and beyond. Also to all the past members of Low Twelve for their contributions to the brutalness! We'll see you fuckers in 2010!
| DON'T FORGET ABOUT XXX! |
|
| Last year we started taking
some of the more "extreme" photos off the Brutality Report so that
others could enjoy following Low Twelve and Heavycore without having to
see that sort of stuff. So we starting doing the Brutality Report
XXX - for you more hardcore bastards (or bitches) out there. As you know, we've got lots of hot chicks on the Brutality Report XXX page. But, that's only for adults, so if that's not your thing, or you're not legal to check that sort of thing out, then don't go there. You must be 18 or older to see that sort of thing - so you've been warned. But if you are legal to see that stuff and wish to - then you can see hot chicks like Alexis (pictured right) and many more, doing some nasty things. So why not check out lots of free picture and movie galleries where you can see sexy teens getting naked and performing acts that only adults can see. We do a feature each week of one of the hottest young girls on the web - offering several galleries for you to check out. Some have movies on them too, so you can see much more than still shots. We also post several more galleries - featuring girls that do nasty things. We also have an archive of past galleries, so you could wind up with a disability claim from all the jerking you're about to do! So be careful and don't hurt yourselves . . . we need you in the trenches - being brutal as ever for the underground metal movement. So that gives you an idea of what's in store . . . lots of hot teen chicks doing nasty things. Need I say more? Just one last time - remember you must be 18 or older to see such things . . . so don't go there unless you're legal. Click on the link below if you want to check out Brutality Report XXX and don't come whining to us if your cock gets sore from all the jerking - or if you're a female and that nub gets worn down. Enjoy the perversion! Happy jerkin'! |
