| 9TH ANNIVERSARY OF LOW TWLEVE FIRST CD RELEASE |
|
| It's amazing to think it's
been nine years since the release of our first CD "Flesh of the Weak".
I remember the date well, because it was fitting for our first release
to come out on 12/12/00. We have always called 12/12 "Low Twelve
Day" amongst ourselves, and so having the groundbreaking release come
out on that day was just kick ass. But there was more of a reason why that 12/12/00 date was special to us. It was the night we first opened for Pro-Pain! That was when I brought them to the legendary Gaslight in Peoria IL and we tore it up first, after doing an in store with them in Peoria for our release and their current release at the time which was "Round Six". Many people over the years have commented about how good the production was on that CD and asked where it was recorded. People laugh when I tell them we did the entire thing in a trailer - yeah a mobile home. We actually practiced in that same trailer from 2000-2003. You can imagine we had some issues with neighbors, but we lucked out and it was our band home for those three years and the place where "Flesh" was born. I did the vocals in the bathroom using a real "high dollar" microphone the engineer, Steve Helmer, told me over and over again not to break it with my brutal voice. Ha. That's one of the reasons I bought the kick ass EV20 "Big Daddy" microphone to do this new "Splatter Pattern" CD to try and recreate that great vocal sound I got on the first CD. I think we've captured it and finally I think the vocals are going to sound like I've always wanted them to. Of course back then Tim was in the band and so you can imagine we had some major laughs recording the CD over the summer of 2000, only six months after Wes replaced original drummer Steve Chestney. It was an exciting time for Low Twelve, because we were still relatively new to the local scene and Heavycore was gaining ground and heavy shows were becoming more common and Low Twelve was usually somehow in the mix. The release of "Flesh of the Weak" put the band on the map all over the world as Twelve Heads got turned on to the classic songs at a time when metal was in turmoil - fighting off the lame rap metal crap. Tim Bradstreet provided the artwork for the cover. |
I had to dig up some pics from the brutal archives and was able to find a few cool ones I thought you'd enjoy. Check 'em out - boy have nine years changed us! Now my ass really feels old!

It's very cool to look back at that time . . . we had a lot of fun doing that. But recording a CD is always exhausting and many, many hours are spent doing some of the most tedious things that most listeners will never realize the difference. It can be maddening sometimes.
If you don't have a copy of "Flesh of the Weak" - well you should. Check out below and order one for the metal head on your list for Christmas!

|
| We haven't been getting a
lot of voting this year - I'm wondering if you fuckers are getting soft

Saggin' Sadie. Both skanks are nasty as hell, but so are the other
10 chicks featured. So butch up and check out the Skank Off 2009. Click on the link below to be disgusted, horrified, and sick to your stomach all at the same time! SKANK OFF 2009 click here now or you'll be called a pussy for years! |
| NATHAN KURTZ DOES GUITAR SOLO ON NEW LOW TWELVE CD |
|
| We've mentioned Nathan Kurtz
before in the Brutality Report - some of you know him from engineering
the drum tracking sessions for our latest "Splatter Pattern", but he
also assisted in some other recordings we did while Les was still in the
band prior to starting "Splatter Pattern". We have also done many
shows with his former band, Skeptik. Nate's a great dude and a
killer guitarist, and so we wanted to have him do a guest solo on the
new CD. Nate was really into it and agreed to do the solo - so he
started working on things today at his home studio. So far what
I've heard is killer and once it's all done and mixed down, I'm sure
you'll be hearing a lot of that song! The song "Hand of the Dying" was chosen because it actually has three guitar solos in it. Les does the first one to a fast rhythm, then Nate comes in with his also to the fast rhythm. At the end of the song, after the last chorus, we continue to jam on the groove and Les solos as the song fades out. Nate is going to try and put something along with Les' solo, so they'll both be trading wicked licks as the song fades out. The significance to the song fading out is that the lyrics are about a Marine who is severely wounded in Iraq and taken to a MASH hospital. He fights for his life and the doctors do their best to stabilize him . . . but he dies only days after he arrives back in the US at Walter Reed Hospital - with his family at his side. I thought the song fading out would fit the Marine fading out from this world. While the song was written after I read two books about this brave Marine, Jason Dunham, who threw himself on a grenade to save his fellow Marines - the lyrics are generic and do not mention his name or follow the exact story as Corporal Dunham. If you'd like to learn more about him - read the books "Rule Number Two" or "Heart of Valor". So with Les doing the first solo, Nate doing the second, and them both blasting away on the last one as the song rides out on a slow fade . . . is just going to slay those posers down. I can't wait to hear it all completed! More details on "Splatter Pattern" coming soon as Wes starts giving me some final drums . . . and the "Bodies In My Pocket" video will be started sometime later this month - so watch out for that shit! Low Twelve is coming at your ass like a freight train! 11 years and going strong bitches! |
| DON'T FORGET ABOUT XXX! |
|
| Last year we started taking
some of the more "extreme" photos off the Brutality Report so that
others could enjoy following Low Twelve and Heavycore without having to
see that sort of stuff. So we starting doing the Brutality Report
XXX - for you more hardcore bastards (or bitches) out there. As you know, we've got lots of hot chicks on the Brutality Report XXX page. But, that's only for adults, so if that's not your thing, or you're not legal to check that sort of thing out, then don't go there. You must be 18 or older to see that sort of thing - so you've been warned. But if you are legal to see that stuff and wish to - then you can see hot chicks like Misty (pictured right) and many more, doing some nasty things. So why not check out lots of free picture and movie galleries where you can see sexy teens getting naked and performing acts that only adults can see. We do a feature each week of one of the hottest young girls on the web - offering several galleries for you to check out. Some have movies on them too, so you can see much more than still shots. We also post several more galleries - featuring girls that do nasty things. We also have an archive of past galleries, so you could wind up with a disability claim from all the jerking you're about to do! So be careful and don't hurt yourselves . . . we need you in the trenches - being brutal as ever for the underground metal movement. So that gives you an idea of what's in store . . . lots of hot teen chicks doing nasty things. Need I say more? Just one last time - remember you must be 18 or older to see such things . . . so don't go there unless you're legal. Click on the link below if you want to check out Brutality Report XXX and don't come whining to us if your cock gets sore from all the jerking - or if you're a female and that nub gets worn down. Enjoy the perversion! Happy jerkin'! |
