So good to see you back in brutality once again my friends . . . I'm writing this Brutality Report with my local fireworks going off in the background! My kids are grown now and so that luster of fireworks on the 4th of July is sort of gone. So I thought I'd go ahead and get a jump on getting this report out, with lots of "Splatter Pattern" work beginning tomorrow here at Nasty Studios. More on all that later on - so dig in you metal bastards.
I've been busy as ever - blasting out the 39th Chopping Block Show for July. It's slamming and you can check it out in streaming mp3 format. Just right to light those computer speakers on fire - so crank that shit up! In addition to the 4th of July going on, the Chopping Block Show to post, and gearing up for the next round of "Splatter Pattern" recordings - I've also been doing some work on the September tour to the east coast and back. So read on!
Of course all you poser pukes are probably out at the bars and clubs, trying to be something you're not. That's fine, because the rest of us real metal freaks laugh at you and know how fake you really are. We keep it true and you change with every damn fad that comes by. Let me quote my own lyric in the song "Thin Skinned":

STATUE OF LIBERTY REOPENS CROWN FOR 4TH OF JULY! |

I saw on tv how they were going to allow people to go back up into the crown of the Statue of Liberty starting today. I was up in the crown myself in 1976, when my grandmother took me there during the big bi-centennial celebrations in New York. Apparently, they closed it down after 9/11 due to the difficulty in getting people up and down quickly. The problem is - it's a spiral staircase with over 300 stairs. It's a security nightmare and so I can understand why they closed it. But I'm glad to hear it's been reopened. I remember those spiral stairs very well. I was only 9 at the time, but I do remember going up those stairs and my grandmother used to tell the story about how I was asking her if she was ok going up so many stairs. At the time, I was suffering from horrible pain in my heels of my feet from tendinitis and had to wear special orthopedic insoles in my shoes. So she was more worried about me than herself. It was a fun story to tell and I do remember how amazing the view was from inside the crown, looking out across the river to the World Trade Center. The New York City skyline has to be one of the most breathtaking. Of course those terrorist bastards put a dent in that skyline on 9/11, but they've been on the run ever since. I don't want to turn these reports into political forum - because to be honest I grow tired of that shit. I do watch quite a bit of it on tv and listen to a lot of talk radio. But I hate it when bands get all into politics. I think you can have strong beliefs, and even write songs about those things you hold dear, without being annoying about it. So on this day - celebrate the birth of what I feel is the greatest country on the planet. It's amazing to think about how much good this country has done to save others . . . and without our brave troops out there fighting for the freedom of many . . . we all probably wouldn't enjoy many of the things we do today. Happy birthday America! |

Gramie from the band Morgueazm for many years. He's been a member
of Heavycore since we started back in the late 1990's and he's also the
host of the Autopsy Report - a metal radio show that plays a wide
variety of metal. Gramie is from England and is a devoted metal maniac! So why don't you check out the show and listen to a little Low Twelve while you're at it? Ironically, I sent Gramie a message on myspace telling him I was playing a Morgueazm song on the Chopping Block this month, and he messaged me back and said it was amazing - but he had already decided on playing Low Twelve on his show this month! | SPLATTER PATTERN
MOVES INTO NEXT PHASE Wes and Meister have now finished up the click track work for the final songs on the CD. Dan will be coming over tomorrow to set up his guitar amp and get things dialed in for his recording sessions this week at my own Nasty Studios. I'm excited to hear how things will sound adding the second guitar player, since Meister has had his tracks done now for a while. Once Wes records all the drum tracks - including the last few songs, then Meister will need to come back and finish up those last few. Plus he'll be doing some vocals in certain songs, as will Dan on backing vocal duties. Meister sings co-lead with me on the track "Hand of the Dying". So I'll be shooting some video of Dan's recording as well as snapping some pics. I'll also be working on vocals a lot over the next 2-3 weeks, so I'll be sure to have my son Joe take some of me too. I'd hate to be "left out of that shit". Ha! We'll keep you posted on our progress. |

see that sort of stuff. So we starting doing the Brutality Report
