So good to see you back in brutality once again my friends . . . especially on this Father's Day! Being a father myself, it's always a good day to look back and reflect on what you've done right as a Dad. Of course also - the things you've done wrong so they don't repeat. So make sure you give your Dad a call today, or even stop by and see him if you've got the chance. My Dad (and Mom) now live in Arizona, so I don't see him that often. But I did give him a call and we talked about the Yankees (of course) and his recent fishing trip back to New York. It was good to catch up. So do that today with your Dad. If your Dad is gone, then you can maybe look through some pictures, if you have maybe some video - and think about him for a while. I'm sure somewhere . . . wherever he is - he'd appreciate the thought.
It's been the usual hectic thing here in the Low Twelve Command Center as the band completed writing the title track for the new "Splatter Pattern" CD. We're happy with the way it turned out, since it is the title track, and so now we've got a lot of work ahead to continue recording. Much more on that later in the report. In addition, I worked some with the live video we shot at the Miller Bash 2009 show in Westville Illinois and was impressed with the sound and how we played. The video is good too. So I've burned copies for the rest of the band to watch, and if things go well - we just may release it as a limited edition live DVD, like we did with the "Live at Eastside" DVD that is now sold out and discontinued. So keep your eyes open for that and you will get a taste of it with two live cuts for "Mountains of the Dead" and the newest song "Hand of the Dying". They are in low quality Windows Media Video files, but at least you can get an idea.
In addition to all that going on . . . we're starting to plan the short September tour and so more updates very soon on that. So you metal freaks dig in and get ready to dine on a buffet of brutality. Of course all you weak ass posers will have to roll around on the floor and eat our scraps. We'll let your women sit with us at the adults table - so you might be able to hear them giggle in delight when they hear the accounts of what a band of real metal men is up to.

This week I spent some time checking out the video that we shot at the Miller Bash show. It turned out pretty damn good really. I got some funny stuff with the band and Crazy Mike before the show. Plus we got the entire set, minus "Dying Room" at the end when the tape cut off. But the show ends with "Crawlspace" - you just don't get the encore. Right now the rest of the band is checking out copies on DVD I burned for them, so we can decide if we want to release it as an official bootleg like we did with the "Live at Eastside" DVD when Les was still in the band. We only made 50 copies and once those sold out, that was it. So we might do the same with this one. We'll see. For now, you can check out two songs from the performance - keep in mind they're in lower quality files for internet streaming. | SPLATTER PATTERN UPDATES |

| We completed the writing for
the title track of the "Splatter Pattern" CD. It turned out
wicked! Meister had a lot of input on this one and came up with
several of the riffs on his own. Meister, Dan and I came up with a
really cool section of the song that changes it up quite a bit and I
think you'll dig it when you hear it for yourselves. It's classic
Low Twelve though, and I'm sure you old school freaks will be able to
hear many influences of old when you check out the new songs. Wes and Meister are going to get together next week to begin working on the last click tracks for the newest songs that were not written when we started tracking. There are only a few of them - one of them is the instrumental that Wes wrote called "Fire For Effect" and of course "Hand of the Dying" and "Splatter Pattern". We also may do "Chopping Block" again. Dan and I will be recording his tracks the week of July 6th here at Nasty Studios. I'll be doing vocals hot and heavy from now until Dan gets here. After Dan is done, I'll probably lay my bass tracks down. That should go pretty easy doing them here at my place - like I did with the "This Side Toward Enemy" CD. After my bass tracks, I'll bring Meister and Dan in for their vocal parts. Meister has some lead vocal stuff to do, and a lot of backup stuff. It's going to take some time, but I'm sure it's going to be wicked with the new "Big Daddy" EV20 microphone I bought myself for Christmas. It's made a huge difference in my vocals so far, and I'm anxious to hear what the whole thing is going to sound like. Of course artist Jeff Gaither will have his own bloody hands in on this project . . . and Noiseland Industries will be printing/duplicating as they have for all the Low Twelve/Heavycore releases (expect Flesh of the Weak). They came up with a very cool "spot varnish" idea for the "Splatter Pattern" cover that will make the blood spatters look wet on the cover! How bad ass will that be? I can't even wait to see it all done. Now the real work begins . . . but the end result will be nothing short of brutal. Is there any other way? |

some of the more "extreme" photos off the Brutality Report so that
others could enjoy following Low Twelve and Heavycore without having to
see that sort of stuff. So we starting doing the Brutality Report
