IN THIS WEEK'S ISSUE:
► First Shows Booked for 2009

► "Splatter Pattern" Recording Updates

► February Chopping Block Replay

► More Hot Chicks in Brutality Report XXX This Week

So what in my brutal CD player this week?

1.  Cannibal Corpse - Evisceration Plague (completely wicked new death metal)
2.  Kreator - Hordes of Chaos (great new German thrash)
3.  Carcass - Wake Up and Smell the Carcass (great UK death metal)

So good to see you back in brutality once again my friends . . . last weekend was crazy with lots going on and more drum tracking for the new Low Twelve "Splatter Pattern" CD.  So I do apologize for not doing the report last week, but I think I'm making up for it this week with lots of good updates, new pics, and of course all the hot chicks a person can stand!

Aside from the drum tracking, we've got Meister gearing up to hit the guitar tracking this Thursday and Friday at my own Nasty Studios, and Dan to follow the week after.  Things are moving along nicely with the new Low Twelve recording!  Much more on that later.  In addition, I've got two shows booked in our hometown of Bloomington Illinois to kick off the new year of live ball slappings.  Check out the details later in the report.  I've also got one of the most nasty skanks of the week wishing you all a Happy Valentines Day!  Fuck yeah.  In addition, remembering Tim on his birthday that just passed as I reflect on his untimely passing in 2002.

So you pussies - can you stand the brutalness of it all?  I doubt it - so go cry in the corner while your women rub their nubs to the Brutality Report.  Of course all you beastly metal freaks know the drill and relish the rudeness like I do.  So dig in you crazed bastards.

Now get on with it.

FEBRUARY CHOPPING BLOCK SHOW - REPLAY!

60-MINUTES OF BALL SHREDDING METAL MAYHEM

www.ChoppingBlockShow.com

The first show of 2009 is posted and ready for you to check out.  Don't miss it - I spin a new track from the brand new Kreator "Hordes of Chaos" CD.  It's a wicked hour of metal insanity.  This was the first show I did with the new "Big Daddy" microphone, so you'll hear a difference in how the show sounds this time I believe.

Listen to the NEW Heavycore Chopping Block (February 2009 - hosted by Pete Altieri)   part 1 (mp3)    part 2 (mp3)

Part 1

Kreator - Radical Resistance
Suffocation - Surgery of Impalement

Cannibal Corpse - Death Walking Terror
Morbid Angel - Beneath the Hollow
SOD - Pussy Whipped
Sodom - Nuclear Winter

Part 2

If you listen to the show, you could win a free copy of the "Roasting Posers Volume I" DVD from Heavycore.  So give it a listen and you just might be the winner.  Good luck and enjoy the show!

GAITHER ANNOUNCED AS ARTIST FOR SPLATTER PATTERN

Last week I contacted artist Jeff Gaither, who has done all the Heavycore cd and dvd covers, as well as all the Low Twelve artwork since 2001.  Jeff is fucking awesome and we're proud to announce that he'll be doing the art for the new Low Twelve "Spatter Pattern" CD.  This one is going to really be over-the-top and Jeff is the guy to deliver the goods.

In addition, we'll be working with Noiseland Industries once again for the CD duplication, printing, and packaging.  They are fantastic and we really enjoy working with them.  Andrew Volna contacted me with a price to do the project and we're pulling things together to make it happen.

As previously announced - the new "Splatter Pattern" CD will feature 11 new Low Twelve songs, a surprise classic Low Twelve song re-recorded with the new lineup, and possibly a "secret" track too.  So you can expect a 13-song offering from the monsters of the Midwest . . . hopefully sometime this fall.

We'll also be shooting at least a couple videos for this CD - and plans are to release a DVD sometime later with videos for ALL the songs!  That would be bad ass . . . so stay tuned Twelve Heads!

REMEMBERING TIM

Tim McCleland in 2000 at the legendary 9 Mile Mosh Fest
Ransom Illinois

Thursday was Tim's birthday (February 12th) and when that time of year rolls around, I always think about him more.  As most of you know, Tim McCleland was an original member of Low Twelve from our founding in July 1998 until he left the band October 2001.  He died on February 25, 2002 at his home in Bloomington Illinois.  Ironically, this was the home where we started the band - in his dingy basement.  I got a myspace message a year or so ago, from a band who jams in that same basement.  They were wondering if it was the same place - where Low Twelve began over ten years ago.  When the drummer sent me a pic of him playing - with the "bloody" walls behind him - I knew it was the same basement.  Tim painted the fake blood on the walls when we started jamming down there.  It did look cool - I admit!

Tim was an amazing guitar player - anyone who ever had the privilege to see him knew that.  His guitar tone was so brutal and heavy and that it was unmistakable that it was Tim playing.  His lead tone was piercing and cut like a freshly sharpened butcher knife.  His patented cigarette dangling from the mouth was definitely a source of amusement . . . that a guy who can throw the fuck down on the guitar would be so calm about it - with a cigarette precariously dangling like that.  When he busted out some backing vocals with the smoke in his lips - that was even better!  It used to crack me up to see people in the front row point at that and marvel at it.  It was classic Tim . . . fucking classic.

So at this time - while some of us celebrate Tim's birth and unfortunately - his passing . . . keep in mind those hilarious stories about him.  He was one-of-a-kind and I don't think anyone who knew Tim would doubt that.

Rest in peace Tim . . . gone but not forgotten.

BRING YOUR LITTLE SISTER TO THE SHOW AND HAVE HER MEET CRAZY MIKE!

WES TEARS IT UP . . . LITERALLY!

Low Twelve drummer Wes Pollock - preparing to lay down some drum tracks

Wes proved a vital point any time a musician goes to record himself.  Be fucking prepared!  Wes was on his game once again and tore it up brutally with the second round of drum tracking.  He now has all the songs done but two - which are still being completed in the writing phase!  So now it's up to the band to complete the final two songs "Hand of the Dying", and "Splatter Pattern" - as well as a short instrumental that Wes wrote (and already recorded drums for) "Fire For Effect".

Once again, engineer Nathan Kurtz did a fantastic job and the raw drums sound absolutely incredible without any editing whatsoever!  Fuckin' A Nate!  After Wes does was little cleaning up he'll need to do, and gets them sounding perfect, he'll get me the files.  Until then, the rest of us will be working with the raw tracks, mixed down in a quick way so we can get working on our parts.

Wes was so brutal this past Sunday, that he busted through a bass drum head!  He tore all the way through it.  I've got it on video, and when I put together the "Making of Splatter Pattern" I'm sure it will end up there.  It's fucking wicked.  Luckily Wes had an extra not far away and Meister stepped in to take the old head off and put the new one in, like a brutal pit crew member!

Just like the last round of drums, this time we did it at Les' place in the old V-12 Concussion Chamber.  It was cool - Crazy Mike stopped by to say hello and so did Mike "Sexy Bearded Handy Man" Stoltz.  Wait until you see the pic of this "uber-geek" in rare form!  Ha - it was just like old times.

So check out some pics below.  This Thursday and Friday Meister will be here at my home studio to record his guitar parts for the first six songs.  In the meantime, I'll also be doing my pass parts when Meister isn't here and laying down some rough reference vocals so we all know where we are in the song when putting our parts down.  Dan will be here the following week on Wednesday, Thursday and possibly Friday nights.  I'll be shooting video of those sessions and of course will have my camera at the ready to capture the whole thing.

Dan (a little tired) and Meister . . . being Meister

Nate "working the knobs"

Mike "Sexy Bearded Handy Man" Stoltz . . . geeking the fuck out!

We'll keep you posted on how things go this week with Meister and myself . . . I'm pumped to lay down my bass tracks and to do guitar tracking for the first time.  I've got my home studio all ready to go, and so far things are sounding great with my new vocal microphone (Electro-Voice EV 20 - aka "Big Daddy").  I'm using a closet as a vocal booth this time around, with acoustic panels all over the place to cut down on sound bouncing around.  My vocals sound very clear and will be a step up from the last time I recorded vocals for "This Side Toward Enemy" in 2005-2006.

We got an email this week from Susan Rescorla, the widow of fallen hero Rick Rescorla - who we wrote "A Hero's Last Stand" about.  I had sent her the lyrics so she could check them out.  She was very moved by them and is very pleased with the song so far.  I'm excited to get a rough mix of the song when it's ready - so she can hear the final product.  So far things are still a go for the song to be played at the "Walk of Heroes" museum at Fort Benning Georgia on September 16-17th.  We are beyond pumped for that!

So start getting your mind prepared for some of this shit my friends!  WOW - this new CD is going to slam.  Here's the track list (in no specific order):

1.  Defiance to the End
2.  Mountains of the Dead
3.  Dying Room
4.  Not Forgotten
5.  Scourge
6.  Hand of the Dying
7.  Bodies in My Pocket
8.  Splatter Pattern
9.  Fire For Effect
10. Bind Torture Kill
11. A Hero's Last Stand

plus two bonus tracks!

DON'T FORGET ABOUT XXX!

As you know, we've got lots of hot chicks on the Brutality Report XXX page.  But, that's only for adults, so if that's not your thing, or you're not legal to check that sort of thing out, then don't go there.

But if you are - then you can see hot chicks like Darcy (pictured right) and many more, doing some nasty things.  So why not check out lots of free picture and movie galleries where you can see sexy teens getting naked and performing acts that only adults can see.

So click on the link below if you want to check out Brutality Report XXX and don't come whining to us if your cock gets sore from all the jerking - or if you're a female and that nub gets worn down.
