So good to see you back in brutality once again my friends . . . as we enter the final month of 2008 and are preparing to bring in the brutal new year! We've been busy writing new Low Twelve songs for the upcoming "Splatter Pattern" CD. It's going to be wicked beyond belief my brutal friends. Much more on that later in the Brutality Report. One thing to note today - the anniversary of Pearl Harbor. Our thoughts here go out to the many sailors and Marines who died on that day. It was a terrible day in US history and what drove us to retaliate (and whip some SERIOUS ass) in World War II.
I'm closing in on the elusive 500th report in less than 20 weeks now! This is the 481st report, so I'm closing in fast. Before you know it, we'll have one hell of a sick and twisted celebration for the 500th. WOW - I can't even believe it my friends. Think about that - I've been doing these for nearly 500 straight weeks with only a couple of times where I've taken a scheduled break away from it. Ten years of sheer nastiness - none can boast such brutal feats I'm sure! I've also found the time to blast out another Chopping Block Show for December, and it's fucking nasty as ever. Check it out as you read the report this week, and get yourself educated on what a real metal band does.
For all you fake bastards out there who don't know what real metal is about - then you can go fuck off. We'll take care of your womenfolk, and feed them plenty of cock while you're away - trying to find that right eye shadow to go with your boots. You fucking queers! The rest of you real metal heads, you come here for that weekly beating that feels oh so good - sink your teeth into this fucker.

| CLOSING IN ON 500TH BRUTALITY REPORT |

It doesn't seem like 500 . . . but I guess when you do the math, it's going to happen real soon! That means that sometime in April 2009, I'll be penning the 500th Brutality Report. WOW. If you have any comments about the reports, good or bad, send them to me at pete@lowtwelve.com and I may include them in something special I'm thinking about putting together. So send in whatever you want - I hear a lot of things from people when I meet them at shows. It's amazing to know the Brutality Report means that much to so many - because sometimes I wonder who is out there reading all this crazy shit. When you look at the web stats - we average between 6,000 and 8,000 readers a week. Sometimes, when crazy shit goes down (me getting cancer, Tim dying, that sort of thing) the hits spike up over 10,000. When I had cancer, our hits went berserk from people wanting to know what was going on. Of course some where gloating and hoping I would die, like the puke Jaydoggie who posted a message on our blog saying "I heard you had cancer, and I hope you die. ROFL" In case you wondered, that's why we use "Jaydoggie's Mom" as the Skank of the Week each time. Ha. But that bullshit aside, the reports are therapeutic for me in a way I guess. I get to vent some things, and I get to talk about things that I enjoy like Low Twelve, Heavycore, and metal in general. So to all you fuckers who read - thanks. | LOW TWELVE WRITING
CONTINUES We had a great practice/writing session yesterday over at Wes' place. Meister had some personal stuff going on where he couldn't practice, so we decided to make the most of it and start working on "A Hero's Last Stand" which was the one Dan and I co-wrote last weekend here at my place. It was fantastic! We really came up with some great stuff and doing it the way we did - where we recorded the parts on my computer - really worked magic. Wes commented that he believes this will speed things up on the learning process and I would agree big time. I also liked it for writing lyrics and vocal lines, because I could listen to the riffs over and over in a loop while I played around with different ideas. As you all know, "A Hero's Last Stand" is about Rick Rescorla - the man I've mentioned before who was featured on the History channel special "The Man Who Predicted 9/11". He's an amazing American hero and I thought writing a song about him would be a challenge. We're doing some things with this song we've never really done before. It's been incredible really. hero’s last stand There will be more lyrics of course, but when I write lyrics this is how I like to do it. This gives me the chance to try out my ideas with the band, so if changes need to be made, I'm not re-writing the whole thing. Plus, it gives the band a chance to influence and inspire the vocals - which happens all the time. Yesterday we really loved what was going on, so I'm going to continue writing them and then we'll be able to put the whole thing together. Dan came up with a great "clean/acoustic" intro for the song, which was something I was asking him to come up with. I always like to do something like that somewhere on the CD. We did it on the first one with "S-21" and then on the last one with "Low Twelve" so it's become sort of tradition. We had some extra time and also played around with the instrumental Wes is working on called "Fire For Effect" and we've got 2-3 parts down and recorded to cassette jam tape quality . . . but good stuff! Nice! So once again, here's the track listing for the "Splatter Pattern" CD (in no specific order):
