So what in my brutal CD player this week? |
|
|
| 1. Testament - The Formation of Damnation (brutal new thrash from Bay Area gods) | |||
| 2. Arsis - We Are the Nightmare (completely wicked technical death metal) | |||
| 3. Kataklysm - Prevail (intense new death metal from Canada) | |||
So good to see you back in brutality once again my friends . . . especially as we celebrate Memorial Day weekend here in the US. As you all know, we here in the Low Twelve Command Center are all about supporting our brave men and women who serve this great country, and especially on Memorial Day, remember the fallen who made the ultimate sacrifice for freedom.
We'll be saluting those who gave their lives for us, and in addition giving you some updates on how things are progressing with the new Low Twelve member changes, some new shows booked, one club going down in flames on the metal circuit, some cool new Low Twelve flash I came up with, plus some smoking hot sluts in the Brutality Report XXX, and of course a new and grisly Skank of the Week. It's a nasty one - so brace yourselves for that sickness.
So you hardened metal maniacs should be more than ready to dig in for a buffet of brutalness. The rest of you posers, well - you know the deal. You should just turn off the computer and dress up in Mommy's clothes and makeup and look pretty for the camera. Don't be surprised if some metal freak kicks down your door, assfucks your woman while you watch, and then takes a nice steaming dump all over your gay CD collection!
Now get on with it.
| AMERICAN "PUSSIES" |
|
| Ok - you just gotta let me
vent on this shit. Maybe it's just me? Maybe I'm just
getting old, bitter, and set in my ways. But maybe it's just that
I can see past the veil of bullshit on these reality shows like American
Idol. I mean seriously! One of my "pet peeves" on that show
is when they call anyone with even a mico-sack a "rocker". I mean
give me a damn break. Any real rocker wouldn't subject themselves
to such stupidity - having to sing karaoke week in and week out, and
such lame bullshit like Neil Diamond, Dolly Parton, and fucking show
tunes? I mean - please! Now, if it's between David Cook and David Archuletta - I guess I'd have to go for Cook. But the whole flawed contest is just so pathetic, to make the country believe that after some fucking stupid contest like that - a new idol will be born? What happened to hard work . . . slugging it out in the bar scene for years, and finally becoming a success. How does a 2-3 month contest bypass all the years of working your ass off? Another thing about David Cook that completely freaks me out . . . is his damn hair. Now ok - I don't have any hair, and probably should be the last mother fucker to judge anyone on hair, fashion, or anything of the sort . . . but this dude looks like a fucking cockatiel and I just can't look at him with a straight face. He's got a fucked up shaped head, so maybe he's trying to hid that shit with some stupid, gay ass hair style. But Jesus . . . I just can't stand to look at him. So there you have it . . . I had to vent on that. Also - is it possible on any reality show for someone (male or female) to not cry? I am so fucking sick of watching adults cry over the stupidest shit. I mean . . . butch the fuck up! It's like the whole country has gone to hell in not just a hand basket, but a hand basket filled with tampons, maxi pads, and menstrual cramps. Stop that shit already! |

So enough about talking about the pussies of this planet, how about talking about what a real metal band is supposed to be like? Of course . . . I'm talking about the ever-brutal Low Twelve. Check out this flash intro I came up with for our website. I'm still playing around with the flash stuff . . . but this was my first stab at it. Check it out and ladies - if you feel the need to start rubbing your clit, don't feel ashamed or anything. Hearing brutal sounds like this, has been known to drive some women just insane. Maybe it's those bass grooves rattling that vagina like a car wreck? Who the fuck knows? Either way . . . it's just a taste of what's to come with my new exploration into using flash.

| THE PHOENIX IS NO
MORE . . .
We got news this week that the kick ass metal venue in Champaign Illinois - the Phoenix is no longer doing metal shows. That really sucks, because we always had a good time playing that place. It had a great metal atmosphere. If you remember - that's the spot where Low Twelve played it's 200th show! In addition, we had an August and October date set at the bar. So - we're doing our best to keep those dates and maybe just moving them to another venue in the Champaign/Urbana area. So keep your eyes open - for now we're going to leave the dates on our schedule, and hopefully we can still put the show on! As for a reason - I really don't know the details. It sounds like a family squabble - because the owner and the person who books the shows are related. But the owner has decided to not do any more metal shows - so either way . . . and for whatever the reason . . . the Phoenix is no more for metal! |

| REMEMBER THE FALLEN |
|
| We've always been very
outspoken when it comes to supporting our military here in the Low
Twelve Command Center. Low Twelve has written songs like "Not
Forgotten" in tribute of those who have paid the ultimate price.
Well, we continue that fine tradition with new songs like "Bodies in My
Pocket" (about a Marine sniper who comes home from Iraq) and "Hand of
the Dying" (about a soldier slipping away in the operating room).
As you all know, I'm a former US Army soldier myself. I was a 19-D - which is a Cavarly Scout. I was in 1/7 Cavalry - which for anyone who has seen the movie "We Were Soliders", that's the unit that the movie is all about. I was on a Bradley crew and was injured while on active duty. My injuries caused me to be medically discharged from the Army in 1994 and I came back to Illinois. Currently I am a 30% disabled veteran due to my back and leg injuries. Also - Wes' dad is a Vietnam veteran and former guitarist, Les Aldridge - was a mechanic in the US Army during the late 1980's. Even former guitarist, Tim McCleland's Dad proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War. So we've got several ties to the military here and are proud to say it. No matter what your political views are, you should at least be proud of your military and thank them for volunteering to do what they do - so you don't have to drop your lives and go fight those fucking terrorists. So on this Memorial Day weekend, I wanted to pay tribute to the fallen and give you some things to think about this weekend instead of only being grateful you have Monday off from work. It's got a deep-rooted meaning in the US culture and you should be damn proud on this weekend. Think in positive ways about those in your lives who have worn the uniform, and especially any of them who came back from war in a coffin. It's on this weekend that we pay homage to the fallen . . . |

I mentioned the movie "We Were Soldiers"
earlier. If you have not seen the movie - by all means here's a
great weekend to rent it. It's incredible. The book is
called "We Were Soldiers Once . . . And Young" and it's also great.
So either way - check it out. The picture to the left is actually
is featured on the cover of the book, and is one of the brave soldiers
in the book - Lt. Rick Rescorla. Rick is a survivor of the battle,
and was awarded several medals for the brave actions he displayed that
saved countless others. The amazing thing about his story - is that after Vietnam, Rick got into the security business. He worked for Morgan-Stanley in the World Trade Center. He survived the first bombing in the early 90's and vowed that the terrorists would strike the WTC again. He couldn't have been more right! There's actually video of Rick speaking on camera in the late 1990's - talking about how the terrorists were coming back and might use planes to hit the towers. Sadly, Rick couldn't have been more right. The terrorists used planes to hit the towers on 9-11-01 and while Rick managed to get everyone out to safety . . . he died himself in the WTC. When I heard this - I was outraged. How could such a brave man who waged war against the battle-hardened North Vietnamese in the Ia Drang Valley . . . die in the World Trade Center on 9-11? Now here's an amazing American veteran you can be proud of. Remember Rick Rescorla. Check out his website for links to lots of articles, his statue, and so much more! www.rickrescorla.com |

If you don't know who Corporal Jason
Dunham is - then I suggest you check out the book "Gift of Valor" about
his tremendous, but painfully short life. Jason was a US Marine
and he paid the ultimate price in April of 2004 when he jumped on a hand
grenade, tossed out by a terrorist at a checkpoint, to avoid his fellow
Marines from injury. Jason absorbed the blast with his body and
took on a deadly brain injury that would later take his life. The
book "Gift of Valor" talks about Jason's life and why he did what he
did. It's incredibly heart-breaking to read. But, it's a
great look at what makes brave men like Jason tick.
Jason was posthumously given the Medal of Honor - the highest award given by this country. I was so moved by his story, about his struggle to live as he stayed alive for many days after the grenade went off. He hung on in an epic struggle . . . and so I wrote the song "Hand of the Dying". It's about the struggle between life and death in a military hospital. Jason's story is so incredible, that I didn't feel writing the song about his was enough. I didn't want to belittle what great things he did. So I thought doing the song, inspired by Jason, but about a fictitious person would be in better taste. I think you'll all like it a great deal. If you'd like to find out more about Jason, the "Gift of Valor" book, the ship that bares his name, and more . . . check out. |
So think about brave men and women on this Memorial Day weekend. Remember how you can do what you do - say what you want to say, because of brave people like this. Remember the fallen . . . and remember that "freedom is never free". |

| STUPID PRACTICE SHIT
AND MORE SHOWS BOOKED We got the word this week that Rotting Corpse Records was going to be hosting a showcase at a new metal venue in Chicago called Metal Up Your Tap! Fuck yeah! Ths show will be on Saturday September 27th and will feature Low Twelve, Ebonmortis, Whorrid, and Deadnight. I don't have any other details now, but will let you all know once we do. This should be a great show and we're excited to be a part of this new venue and hopefully will be making more trips to Chicago to throw down! We had a good week in practice . . . despite Wes putting a nice sized hole in his new bass drum head! Fortunately, he took a short trip downtown Bloomington to score a new one from our buddies at the MusicCenter. We finally took on the epic "Mountains of the Dead" and incredibly got through the whole thing - with some serious rough edges - by the end of practice. This makes the list of songs that we know with Dan and Meister: Dying Room That's about a half hour set so far! We still have lots more work ahead. The next one up is going to be the crowd favorite "Crawlspace". We thought it would be nice and simple to toss in this classic and get that learned, since we've been hammering both Dan and Meister with some intricate stuff like "Mountains of the Dead" and "Bodies in My Pocket". The sound keeps improving - so brace yourselves for a serious ass-whipping at the first show you check out. We're pumped to take it to the stage, since we've been working hard in Wes' basement since March when Les quit. Speaking of Les - he's doing great. I spoke to him recently, and he's got a new job now and doing good. He misses playing with Low Twelve and wanted to say "hell yeah" to all the Twelve Heads out there who miss him being around. We are still planning to put together a 10 Year show, celebrating 10 years of Low Twelve, and have invited both Les and Steve Chestney to come to the show and jump up on stage. So that should be a blast. We'll keep you all posted on that. |
| DON'T FORGET ABOUT XXX! |

So why not check out lots of free picture and movie galleries where you can see sexy teens getting naked and performing acts that only adults can see.
