So what in my brutal CD player this week? |
|
|
| 1. Testament - The Formation of Damnation (wicked new thrash from the thrash GODS) | |||
| 2. Arsis - We Are the Nightmare (great technical death metal) | |||
| 3. Kreator - Coma of Souls (going old school with great German thrash) | |||
So good to see you back in brutality once again my friends . . . it's been the usual hectic week here in the Low Twelve Command Center. It's been brutal terrorizing posers every step of the way, but we've got a ton of shit to cover in this report.
I did a phone interview with legendary Testament front man, Chuck Billy, and you can hear it all for yourself. In addition, last night Wes and I hit the Testament show in Mokena Illinois and it was fucking KILLER. I'll have more on that later, plus you can check out the wicked new May edition of the Heavycore Chopping Block Show where you can hear a track off the new Testament CD, also a look at a couple more of the promo shots we took last weekend with photographer Gabby Hinkson, more Low Twelve shows booked with the new lineup, and of course a very nasty skank of the week, and plenty of hot teen snatch in the Brutality Report XXX - so don't miss that shit.
Of course the posers of this world must feel compelled to watch as we torment their lame asses. It must be difficult, but we forge the fuck on and do what we can to make them feel inferior in the presence of real metal freaks. So posers - hold your faces up to the screen while I put this steel-toed boot of love into your jaw and shatter it right here in front of everyone.
Now get on with it.
| MAY CHOPPING BLOCK SHOW POSTED |
hosted by Heavycore's |
| Always striving to be as
brutal as fucking possible . . . I busted out the May edition of the
Heavycore Chopping Block Show the other day. It's slamming - check
out the new Testament track, plus tons more ball slapping tunes that are
sure to shatter your computer screen and melt those fucking speakers.
Don't come crying to me if it does - you were warned! It's hosted by me and is always wicked as hell. Listen to the NEW Heavycore Chopping Block - part 1 (mp3) part 2 (mp3)
Part 1
Part 2 There is a contest question if you listen to the show - so you can score a free copy of the Heavycore DVD "Roasting Posers Volume I" with Pro-Pain, Lividity, Low Twelve, and many more. So good luck and hope you dig the show. Feel free to send feedback (good or bad) on the show to me at join@heavycore.org |
| CHUCK BILLY INTERVIEW |
|
|
As I mentioned before, I did a phone interview (known as a "phoner" in the industry - don't you feel smarter knowing that?) with the legendary singer for Testament - Chuck Billy. This was especially cool for me, because Chuck has been a huge inspiration to me in the vocal department ever since I heard him back in the late 1980's. I've always loved the way he mixes melody with brutal vocals - a feat that is not easy to pull off. In addition, Chuck went through chemo for cancer at the same time I did in the summer of 2008 - so his battle was inspiring to me and helped to keep me driving on in my fight. Fortunately, Chuck beat his cancer too . . . so I wanted very badly to tell him how important his fight was to me and how much I dug his vocals. Well . . . with Testament in Chicago this weekend I had hoped to do the interview at the show. But that didn't work out, so his management set up the phoner on Monday April 28th and that's how it went down. You can hear the whole thing (26 minutes) in mp3 format. It's not a traditional interview, but more of a conversation between me and Chuck - so keep that in mind. When the interview posted on Blabbermouth - some people hammered me for talking too much. Fuck 'em I guess. They're just jealous they didn't talk to the leather-lunged beast . . . ha. This was recorded with a small Olympus recorder - not really set up correctly for a phoner. But it was all I had - so bear with the quality. I hope you dig it. Chuck Billy Interview - 26 minutes Speaking of Testament . . . the show on Saturday at the Pearl Room in Mokena Illinois was fantastic. The other bands weren't that great - Darkane was about the only thing worth a crap to listen to. We missed Sacred Dawn and supposedly they were good - so that's too bad we missed them. But Testament tore the place to the ground - playing to a packed house (I'm guessing 1,500 or more) opening up with "Over the Wall" and tearing through classics such as "New Order", "Apocalyptic City", "Alone in the Dark", "Practice What You Preach", "The Preacher", "Into the Pit", "Trail of Tears", "Disciples of the Watch", "3 Days of Darkness", "DNR", and even a few off their new "Formation of Damnation CD" - "More Than Meets the Eye", "Evil Has Landed" and "The Henchmen Ride". |
Testament was just incredible - it was killer to see Alex Scholnick back with them, in addition to original bassist Greg Christian. Also very cool to see ex-Slayer/Exodus drummer Paul Bostaph now behind the kit. The whole band just tore it up righteously. I was blown the fuck away. Also along with us were Wes' brother Travis, my friend Jon "Macho Donut" Rankin, and my son Joe - as he continues his metal education. He was in the front row, right in front of me - right in front of Alex Scholnick. Talk about a guitar clinic - holy shit . . . he was unreal.
By the way - pick up the new Testament CD - "The Formation of Damnation". It's awesome! It's out now on Nuclear Blast. They have them for sale off their site (see link under Chuck's pic) where you can get a copy for only $15 (postage included) autographed by the band! How cool is that shit?

| WES' NEW DRUM SET ARRIVES . . . FINALLY! |
|
| Wes finally got his sweet
new Pearl set. How cool is that shit? They sound even
better, as he's been busting them in all week . . . and then with us
Saturday at practice. He's planning on getting some Low Twelve
logos for the bass drums and this time - NO STICKERS on the drums.
So if you want to send Wes an email about the kit - send 'em to wes@lowtwelve.com and if you want, you can criticize his Cubs shirt if you want . . . Check out another couple shots below! |

| MORE LOW TWELVE SHOWS
BOOKED . . .
Slowly but surely . . . I've been working on booking some Low Twelve shows - so we can show off the new lineup to you mother fuckers! We've set up a couple shows at the Phoenix in Champaign Illinois. Mark these down on your calendar . . . and make sure you bring your Mom with you! Saturday August 16th Saturday October 18th We are also playing the Hallowfest show in the Hoopeston area this year . . . so once we know the date that will be added to the list. We're also looking to hit the Eastside Tavern in Columbia Missouri this fall sometime . . . so prepare yourselves for the brutality of it all! |
| STUPID PRACTICE SHIT |
|
| I haven't had much time this
week to go through all the pics that Gabby Hinkson took. She took
some great ones, and this is one I picked to put our logo on for the
myspace page and the main page of our website. We've had a few
compliments on the pic so far . . . I think it's a great shot.
Crazy Mike and Michelle also took great ones, so we've got a lot of work
to do to whittle the pile down to only a few we can use. We had a great practice this week with our two new axe-slingers. We started working on "Bodies In My Pocket" to add to the list of songs we can play all the way through. Dan and Meister are both doing great as they learn the songs one by one. We had a few visitors to practice this week - Wes' brother Travis, Jon Rankin, and Crazy Mike too. It was good to get some feedback. So far, everyone is really surprised at how tight things are already. Wes' new kit sounded killer too, which only helps in the sound. We're getting closer to having a full 45-minute set for the 8/2 debut show at Paulie's in downtown Bloomington Illinois. That should be brutal as hell and it should be a packed house with our first show, plus Hurtlocker, Vesicant and In the Wake of the Butcher joining us for a slam fest. |
| DON'T FORGET ABOUT XXX! |
|
| As you know, we've got lots
of hot chicks on the Brutality Report XXX page. But, that's only
for adults, so if that's not your thing, or you're not legal to check
that sort of thing out, then don't go there. But if you are - then you can see hot chicks like Raven (pictured right) and many more, doing some nasty things. So why not check out lots of free picture and movie galleries where you can see sexy teens getting naked and performing acts that only adults can see. So click on the link below if you want to check out Brutality Report XXX and don't come whining to us if your cock gets sore from all the jerking - or if you're a female and that nub gets worn down. Enjoy the perversion! Happy jerkin'! |
