IN THIS WEEK'S ISSUE:
► Two New Low Twelve Guitarists Announced!

► Hurtlocker Added to Poser Roast 23

► More Hot Chicks in Brutality Report XXX This Week

So what in my brutal CD player this week?

1.  Testament - Live in London (kick ass live thrash metal)
2.  Hurtlocker - Embrace the Fall (killer new thrash from Chicago)
3.  Morbid Angel - Domination (wicked old school death metal)

So good to see you back in brutality once again my friends . . . as we bring in Spring with a rebirth of Low Twelve!  It's amazing to think, but after only two weeks - we have not one but two guitar players ready to shred!  As you all know, Les Aldridge left the band two weeks ago for personal reasons, and while we loved the sound with Les, we wanted to change things up a bit and go back to the original two-guitar concept.  Welcome our two new brothers in this week's Brutality Report.

With all that going on, to be honest with you - we've been busy as hell getting these new guys up to speed on what the vision of Low Twelve is for the future, as well as working with them on the songs so we can get back on stage as soon as possible.  They're catching on amazingly quick and we're very positive that you'll see us back on stage sometime before the end of the summer.  You'll see the first band picture with the new lineup as well as some behind-the-scenes pics that I snapped at practice.  In addition to that, I've got some updates on Poser Roast 23 as Chicago thrashers Hurtlocker have been added to the lineup.  It's going to be wicked as hell.

All that plus some HOT chicks in the Brutality Report XXX for you perverted bastards (and bitches) to check out.  Be sure you have a box of tissues around, or maybe a roll of paper towels to clean up the DNA you fuckers leave behind at your keyboard!  It's hot as hell.  Plus a nasty new Skank of the Week to make you gag up your lunch.

So posers of this planet, you should be concerned.  After all . . . when Les left the band, you probably thought that was it.  You probably figured Wes and I would want to say fuck it and pack it in.  After all . . . ten years of Low Twelve is nothing to frown on.  Well - you fuckers could not have been more wrong as Low Twelve rages the fuck on with two new guitar players that are ready to saw your heads off!  We're just counting the days until we can get back up on stage and destroy you fuckers.

Now get on with it.

WES PREPARES FOR THE MAYHEM

watch out - angry Cubs fan with a power tool!

Since we had to leave the amazing V-12 Concussion Chamber behind at Les' place, Wes had to prepare things in his basement for us to practice.  So he managed to score a sweet, but HUGE pallet from work that needed to be cut down to size just to get it down the stairs.

So here you can see him cutting it down . . . but be careful if you see an angry Cubs fan during baseball season this year - especially if he's got a power tool in his hands.  We know how depressing the Cubs can make a person after the first month or two of the season.  Ha.

Huge fuck yeahs to Wes for making the basement a great place to jam.  He's got posters up on the walls and has moved things around so we have all the room we need - and so far, so good on not blowing up any fuse boxes or anything!

Also thanks to Michelle and Summer for putting up with all the noise - we appreciate it a great deal.  They also have a couple dogs that are going to just love all the rumbling going on in the basement . . . so we appreciate everyone making us feel at home and for putting up with it.

One other thing - not only is Wes a Cubs fan but he's also from Clinton Illinois.  That means that he's got some "Clintuckiness" in his veins!  Ha . . . sorry Wes.

NEW LOW TWELVE LINEUP SET

When Wes and I got the word about Les leaving the band - we set up a meeting so that we could decide where to go from here.  We made up a "short list" of some guitar players that we knew, so that we could begin the search with guys that we already knew something about - and wouldn't be dealing with any more unknowns than necessary.

When we had lunch with Les last Saturday, as previously reported, he told me off to the side - that he thought if we were going to go with two guitar players now, that he would suggest Jeremy Meister and Dan Steinlicht.  He admitted, that he didn't have any say in the decision, but those would be his choices if we were to switch back to the two-guitar style of playing.

Well - for ten years of loyal service - Les ironically picked the two guitarists that would replace him.  Welcome Dan and Meister to the band!

Jeremy Meister goes by Meister and has for years . . . so you'll need to get used to that.  He's from Pontiac Illinois - which as you know is one of the favorite spots for us to play.  So it's fitting that a Pontiac thrash maniac joins forces with us!  He's a great dude that we've known for a very long time from the other bands he's played in before.  You may know of him from his years as guitar player in The Breed of Sedition, as well as Human Hatemachine, and lastly with Killborn.  Meister is a wicked rhythm player with a scorching fast picking style that really pops in the mix.  He's been learning the songs quickly and so far, we've practiced with him three times and he's already got "Dying Room", "Chopping Block" and "Defiance to the End" down.  We made him a CD with all the songs we wanted him to learn first, so we could play a 45-50 minute set and get back to live play.  He's also got a packet of lyrics - because not only can Meister play guitar, but he's got one hell of a brutal voice.  He's sang lead before in Human Hatemachine and so he'll be adding a whole new angle to the Low Twelve sound as hell back me up and on some upcoming new songs, will be doing some back and forth vocals with me - something I've always wanted to do!

Meister in action

We knew that our second guitarist would need to be able to play wicked rhythms as well as solos - since our music was always very solo friendly.  So we were fortunate when Dan Steinlicht agreed to come by and give it a try yesterday.  It didn't take long for us to decide that Dan was perfect for the job and the chemistry between him and Meister was natural.  These guys work really well together, after only four hours of practice yesterday.  Some of you may remember Dan from playing guitar for Redeeming Damnation and currently he still jams with Zero Shift.  We also knew Dan from his years of running live sound, and he had run sound for us several times at various venues.  Dan is a wicked guitar player with the chops to pull this off and a good attitude about playing and doing it right.   With Dan, we've now got a full PA at our disposal and can do more shows at venues that don't already have a sound system in place.  Dan is originally from Colfax Illinois (that's good for Wes because now Dan officially is from the smallest town - so Clinton might just get a break from my jokes) but now lives in Bloomington along with Wes and I.  So he lives close, and Meister only about 35 minutes away in Pontiac - and so the new lineup falls into place nice and neatly . . .

Meister in action (along with Meister)

So now we have the complete lineup in place and while it's going to take some time to work on the set list - we'll spend whatever effort is needed to make things even more brutal than before.  The plan is to teach all the new songs that we were gearing up to record - Dying Room, Chopping Block, Defiance to the End, Bind Torture Kill, Not Forgotten, Mountains of the Dead, and Bodies in My Pocket.  In addition, we still have three more songs to finish writing, so Meister and Dan will be a part of that process for those three songs.  As for the others - they will have the opportunity to modify the guitar parts as they see fit and we'll give them the creative freedom to do what they want on those songs.  There will be older songs brought into the live set of course - songs like Crawlspace, Lines Drawn, Within Lies, and Heavycore are among the list of songs we wanted to do live with the new lineup.  We've also got a couple surprises in store there with the older songs - so keep your ears open.

Once we have all ten of the new songs (including the 3 we need to finish writing) we will record them and start working on the new "Blackened Spiral Down" CD.  We're very excited to record again, and while we have a delay with getting Meister and Dan up to speed - we're also excited to record with the new lineup so quickly after forming it.  So things are already looking way up!

We don't know when we'll be ready to play live again - but we are confident it will happen sometime this summer.  Once we know, we'll be letting you all know.  So we appreciate your patience there.  We are very excited to tear heads off again . . . so rest up for the onslaught soon to follow!
