IN THIS WEEK'S ISSUE:
► Pete and Wes Attend Cole's Graveside Service

► New clip of Low Twelve's "Not Forgotten"

► Hot Next Door Nikki galleries and much more

So what in my brutal CD player this week?

1.  Carcass - Heartwork (Wes put it in my CD player, now I can't take it out)
2.  Kreator - Live Kreation (didn't I tell you this was the best live CD ever?)
3.  Cannibal Corpse - Live Cannibalism (another wicked live CD)

So good to see you back in brutality once again my friends . . . it was a sad week this week as many metal heads in Central Illinois mourned the loss of Craig Cole.  Wes and I went to the graveside service in rural Pontiac Illinois and it was good to see so many who turned out to celebrate Craig's life.

Despite the sorrow . . . Low Twelve managed to have one hell of a kick ass week at practice as we continued to work on new material and even blew through some of our other stuff in preparation for some upcoming shows.  Speaking of upcoming shows, we've got another trip set for Columbia Missouri - probably our favorite spot to play out of town.  Hell yeah!  More on that, plus you'll get a 60-second taste of the latest mix of Low Twelve's new song "Not Forgotten" from the upcoming "Blackened Spiral Down" CD, lots of naked hot girls, and so much more!

So are you ready to get your ass kicked in the most brutal of ways?  Are you prepared to learn about the toils of a real metal band, while many of you posers out there are more worried about your mascara running than learning how to play and refine your metal craft.  Of course there's many more metal maniacs out there who love this shit and can handle my steel-toed boot to the chin.  Now wipe the blood away, and continue on . . .

Now get on with it.

THE PASSING OF A FRIEND

Craig "Colonator" Cole
1980-2007

As you all know from reading the report last week (in case you missed it - here's the link) that our friend and the engineer for "This Side Toward Enemy" died August 10th at his home in Normal Illinois.  It sucks to lose anyone, let alone a young person who should not have died so young.

Last week I wasn't sure how to address the circumstances around Craig's untimely death.  At the time I wrote the report, I did not have any sort of official word as to the cause of death.  I was not going to report on any of the talk that was going around about possible causes.  I remember how it was when Tim died in 2002 and how even I assumed wrong at first.  So I knew how important it was to not perpetuate that stuff and let the facts speak for themselves.

Wes and I went to the service they had at Patty Cemetery in rural Pontiac on Friday.  The preacher talked about the cause of death in a way that I thought was very well done, considering the crowd at a funeral for a metal head.  Craig died of a drug overdose.  He had a serious heroin addiction that he battled for many years and it finally took him out on August 10th.

The preacher read from lyrics that Craig had very recently written, where he told of the pain his addiction brought, and how he hated doing shitty things to people he loved and cared about.  He really seemed to despise what he had become.  It was like he gave up the fight and just let the drugs take him over.  I thought this was the saddest thing I had ever heard!  He was in and out of treatment programs, was surrounded by friends and family who were trying to help - but it was just too much I guess.  This was very similar to what happened with Tim, because he had his own demons to battle.  With Tim it was alcohol and depression.  In both cases - what a horrible waste of amazing talents!

So here at nine days after Craig's death, I come away with an empty pit about this waste of talent.  I knew Craig for 8 years and he was a great dude when I was around him.  He was a kick ass drummer, one of the best live sound men I'd ever worked with, and just a good person.  After we worked together on Low Twelve's "This Side Toward Enemy" was when I believe he began to make his descent, because I didn't hear from him a whole lot.

It's easy to get caught up in our own busy lives sometimes.  Take this story to heart - that if you know of a person with heavy problems like Cole or Tim, do what you can to get them help.  Sometimes that's not enough, but you'd rather think back and remember doing everything you could than doing nothing at all.

Think about that and don't let Craig's death go without rattling some of you to your foundation.  If you're in this situation with drugs, alcohol, depression, or any such thing you need to get help.  I'd rather not go to any more funerals for a while.

To read Craig's obituary in the Bloomington Pantagraph - check it out.  RIP Colonator.

SNEAK PEEK AT NEW LOW TWELVE

We got together last week to mix down "Not Forgotten" and while it's not totally done, we thought you fuckers would like to check out a part of the song.  As most of you know from reading these brutal pages, the song is dedicated to veterans past and present.  Les and I are both US Army vets, and Wes' dad proudly served in Vietnam, so we're ALL ABOUT supporting the cause and remembering the incredible sacrifice they made for us.  We can't say it enough.

Here are the lyrics to the song so you can check 'em out.  This is a short 60 second (or so) clip for you to hear how things are going with our new CD and that before long, you'll be able to rattle your windows with the real thing.

Not Forgotten - mp3 clip

Not Forgotten (music by Low Twelve, lyrics by Pete Altieri)

Forced to march in an unforeseen land
The Island of Batton in 1941
Mile after mile they forged on
A wake of fallen brothers follows them on and on
They were gone, but not forgotten

Frrozen by the Chosin
In a war that history put on a shelf
Dug in deep, Marines fought the odds
Blood runs thick in red, white, and blue
They were gone, but not forgotten

Chorus

Gone but not forgotten, gone but not forgotten

Enemy fire all around
So intensely loud there is no sound
See my brothers die each day
Giving their lives for freedoms sake

Creeping through the jungles
In Vietnam, the enemy had no face
Some died, the rest endured the hell
Welcomed home like criminals
They were gone, but not forgotten

Burning desert sands and oil fields
Enemy cowards strap themselves with bombs
Standing up in the face of evil
Proudly wave the flag so many bled for
They were gone but not forgotten

Repeat Chorus

CONTEST - be the first Twelve Head to email me at contact@lowtwelve.com and tell me three of the five wars referenced in this song.   The winner scores a new Low Twelve t-shirt (large, x-large) and a copy of the "This Side Toward Enemy" CD.  Good luck!

So you want to try something new in the bedroom?  Here's a good one for you sick ass fuckers from the hills who are a little on the inbred side of things . . . the KENTUCKY PLOW.

You're doing a girl doggystyle on a hard floor, then you sweep her arms out from under her so that she bangs her face on the floor, knocking out her teeth.  She stares up at you, completely toothless and looking like she belongs in the hills of Kentucky.

Now some of you might just go ahead and try this one out!  Good luck and don't hurt her too bad you sick fuckers.  Make sure you send a pic of it to me at contact@lowtwelve.com

Yee haw!

THOSE HOT SLUTS NEXT DOOR

So you fuckers love to see chicks getting naked?  Well, you've cum to the right place.  In this column each week we feature a different hot chick, although Next Door Nikki seems to dominate our reports each week.  She's hot as hell and it's no wonder her webmaster sends her galleries to us nearly every week!

While you're checking out these galleries, feel free to take the site visits.  They're usually free and you can see more than just a few pics.  Some of them feature videos and more.  If you join up as a member, you get to see all the galleries and some of them include some seriously wicked stuff!  Often times you can chat with the girls and mail in stuff for them to wear for future photo shoots.  How about that?

Check out these galleries we're featuring this week and don't worry about it.  I won't tell on you.  Promise!  Just don't blame us if you get in trouble at home or school . . . or like one poor Twelve Head - he got fired from work for looking at porn.  Use some fucking common sense . . . grab that box of tissues and get to spankin!

STUPID PRACTICE SHIT

We had a very productive week in the Low Twelve V-12 Concussion Chamber!  We are wrapping up "Mountains of the Dead" finally and will begin working on the next song "Bodies in My Pocket" very soon!  I'm also working on a song about the birth of Communism and it's ill effect on the world with a song called "Scourge" and then I'm doing some research for a song about the spiritual side of cannibalism and why certain people have resorted to the taboo practice.  I don't have a working title for this song yet, but I do quite a bit of reading and research about most of the topics we write about.  So it will take a little time.

You can expect to hear some of the latest Low Twelve songs at our shows as we try them out - so get ready to have your ears completely brutalized!  Check out a few pics we took of each other this week at practice.

Me all serious - saluting you mother fuckers!

If anyone has emailed us about wanting to be an extra in the "Chopping Block" video - we didn't get it.  Our new email junk mail filter is way too aggressive, and so we had to back it down.  So if you sent us one - please try again at pete@lowtwelve.com and let me know that you want to be in the new video.  We hope to shoot it sometime in September on a Saturday morning.  Once I know the details, we'll pass them along.
